The Wellness Warriors Gathering is an initiative of (GCUFC) in response to requests from club members to support the mental health and wellbeing of men.
Men’s mental health is a real concern with 40 % of men not discussing their mental health. Many men feel embarrassed or ashamed to seek help due to societal pressures to appear strong and suppress their emotions. Common issues include loneliness, stress, depression and anxiety. Alarmingly in Australia 8 people die everyday by suicide.
Men’s mental health and wellbeing will be promoted at the Wellness Warriors Gathering men from:
- Life stage health and wellbeing advice from a leading medical professional.
- leading speakers on key topics including nutrition, fitness, financial management and e-safety.
- Life experiences of former professional sportsmen.
- Optional post group experiences.
All men 18 years and over are welcome at the Wellness Warriors Gathering. Please invite any man you think might benefit from attending the gathering- a family member, a friend or a work colleague.
