What is about football that reminds you of brewing beer?
Both share so many traits, so many... being obsessed about perfection, even when you know that your quest for it will be unending. Searching for ways to do things better, to plan out your approach, to be critical of yourself, to reflect and learn, to always be on a journey of improvement.
Has sport played an important role in your family?
It sure has, both our kids have been big on sport throughout their youth, surfing, horse riding, school sports, it's been a big part of our lives. Sport is such an important part of our culture, it brings us together and teaches us so much.
As a local business, how important is community to you?
Community is everything to us. Our community of staff and supporters who have been with us all the way and our community of customers, both here in Burleigh and from wherever you can find our products. The time we feel most connected to our community would be when we have events at the Taphouse here in Burleigh. It comes alive and truly feels like we've built something special.
When it comes to reputation, how would you like Burleigh Brewing to be known?
We talk about this a lot actually, and the obvious things always come to mind, like we want people to think of us as the best beer they've had and all that, but to be honest, we really want to be known as the beer that feels like the perfect fit to someones life. We don't produce beer for people who drink to excess, we do it for people who love beer, but love having a great beer more. Beer is for moments, it's not for mindlessness, so we want to be known as the beer for those moments.
