How did Fiona Watson Recruitment get started and what was the trigger?
FWR was launched in 2014 when we identified a real need for a premium specialist recruitment service for companies on the Gold Coast.
Having recruited in accounting, construction and marketing for many years within recruitment agencies worldwide, we had the knowledge, experience and network.
We are proud of the fact that over 10 years later we are recognised as the preferred recruiter for some of the largest and most reputable companies in the region.
Has sport played an important role in your family?
Sport is a critical part of our family life. Dave is a runner and regularly runs half and full marathons, I love the water and the mountains so hike, swim, trail run and kayak.
Both of our children have been playing football since they were big enough to kick a ball. They have been involved in club football since they were five, which is reflected by them both playing at academy level now.
As a family, our life revolves around the football season as we love to watch them play and develop.
As a business, how important is community to you?
Community is incredibly important. From volunteering for surf life saving to sponsoring football teams for the last five years, having an active involvement in the community and having the opportunity to give something back is one of our most satisfying achievements.
I love the football community, its so positive. Cheering on from the sidelines with other parents, working together, helping each other out – I love it!
When it comes to reputation, how would you like Fiona Watson Recruitment to be known?
I think at FWR we have worked very hard to cement ourselves as the leading specialist recruiters in accounting, construction and marketing on the Gold Coast.
In recruitment, reputation is everything. Having an honest, authentic approach is why clients and candidates come back to us time and time again.
We genuinely enjoy what we are doing and I think that is reflected in our results and how we are seen in the market
