GCU UK Tour 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Leg 1 of our Gold Coast United tour to the UK is now complete - with the group wrapping up their time in Scotland.

The players had the opportunity to take part in sessions delivered by both Celtic and Rangers Academy coaches - an incredible experience for all players.

The group also attended a number of Scottish Premier League games including -

Celtic vs Ross County 🟢
Hearts vs Aberdeen 🔴

and spent time exploring the city centres of both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The group now head off to Manchester for the 2nd part of their tour 🚎

2025 Coaching Announcement 🟡

We are excited to announce the signing of Harvey Pope as one of our Lead Academy coaches for 2025!

Harvey comes to the club with both an impressive coaching and playing background, having spent his youth footballing years at Fulham and Oxford United Academy in England. Since moving to Australia, Harvey has been involved with a number of Academy clubs across the Gold Coast & Brisbane region across both the Junior and Senior space.

Harvey will bring great energy and enthusiasm to the coaching group - and will work closely alongside our U13 Lead Academy coach Paul Wilton.

Welcome Harvey and we look forward to having you at the club!

2025 Coaching Announcement 🟡

We are excited to announce the signing of Kerwin Jean-Pierre to Gold Coast United – as one of our Lead Academy Coaches aswell as Head of Senior Mens Analysis for the 2025 season!

Kerwin comes to the club with an impressive background both in Australia and Overseas – having worked at a number of other Queensland Academy clubs aswell as Brisbane Roar, and most recently spent time away in Europe with Spanish club EF Huesca. His detailed approach to player development, and ability to prepare young footballers for their pathway into senior football will be an invaluable asset within our Academy space.

With countless years of experience within the High Performance space, Kerwin will also take lead as the head of senior men’s analysis – where he will work closely alongside our Senior Head Coaches, Craig Midgley and Jamie Dixon.

We are extremely excited to have Kerwin on board and are looking forward to a fantastic 2025 Season!

Big congratulations to our young star, Suren Derakhshi, on being offered a spot in the Western United FC Junior Academy! ⚽

After absolutely dominating at the National Schoolboys Tournament in Perth last month, Suren’s talent couldn’t be ignored. 💪

This kid has had an incredible season at GCU, showcasing his skills, quality, and consistency week in and week out. 🙌

Suren’s development into a fine young player has been a joy to watch, and we’re so proud to see him take this huge step in his football journey. 🫶
